Our Story

Established in 2011, Chip Cooper's Roofing Co., Inc. brings over four decades of professional roofing experience to the Central Coast. Founded by Mary and Chip Cooper, our company combines Mary's exceptional business administration expertise with Chip's extensive 45+ years of hands-on roofing knowledge to deliver superior service and craftsmanship to our clients.

Mary Cooper, President of the company, brings a wealth of business management experience. Prior to founding the roofing company, she ran a successful bookkeeping business serving diverse industries, including numerous construction companies. At Chip Cooper's Roofing, Mary oversees the administrative side of the business, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer service.

Chip Cooper, Vice-President, grew up in Santa Maria, California. After graduating from Santa Maria High School, he attended Allan Hancock College before continuing his education at Cal Poly where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business. With over 45 years in the roofing industry, Chip has mastered every aspect from estimating to project management. Before co-founding the company in 2011, Chip honed his expertise working in the roofing industry, building the knowledge and relationships that would later become the foundation of Chip Cooper's Roofing.

Today, the company features two generations of roofing expertise with Chip and Mary's sons—Matthew, Brody, and Bryce Cooper—bringing fresh perspectives and innovative approaches while honoring the values of quality and service that guide our business.

The Family Team

Matthew Cooper, our Chief Financial Officer, was born and raised in Santa Maria. After graduating from St. Joseph High School, Matthew attended Allan Hancock College before pursuing his accounting degree at UCSB. Following in his father's footsteps, Matthew worked in the roofing industry before the founding of Chip Cooper's Roofing. Beginning at age 18, he installed roofs alongside experienced crews, gaining hands-on knowledge of the craft while working toward his accounting degree.

Brody Cooper, also a graduate of St. Joseph High School and attended Allan Hancock College, oversees logistics for the company, ensuring that materials, equipment, and crews are efficiently coordinated for every project. His meticulous attention to scheduling and resource management helps our operations run smoothly and keeps projects on time and on budget.

Bryce Cooper, a graduate of St. Joseph High School and Allan Hancock College, continued his education at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he earned his degree in Accounting. Demonstrating exceptional dedication, Bryce passed all his CPA exams while working as a roofer during the day. His professional background includes experience in public accounting and positions with prestigious companies such as Boston Dynamics, The Trade Desk and PKF. Bryce applies advanced accounting practices and business strategies that enhance our operational efficiency.
